The sequel to the rather successful thriller by the then little-known director John Carpenter could not entail a couple of direct sequels. And the first of them was not slow to appear. A huge responsibility lay on the shoulders of the creators: they were faced with the task of not only bringing Michael Myers' character back to life a second time, but also letting him leave the big blue screen beautifully, which, in fact, was competently implemented by John Carpenter's childhood friend, Richard Rosenthal, for which `Halloween-2` was the first and only truly successful feature film. Nothing interesting, Mr. Rosenthall, subsequently no longer noted, which is a pity. You can laugh, or you can just shrug your shoulders in bewilderment, but the fact remains: to date, of the nine existing sequels of the original picture, you can't puke only after watching the very first of the sequels (that is, actually, Mr. Rosentall's `Halloween-2`) , because all subsequent film adaptations on the same topic were so miserable that I had enough power for 5 minutes of watching the above.
If you watched the first part of the franchise, then you probably remember that John Carpenter did not play on the number of murders, blood and meat. In general, `Halloween-2` has kept the quality bar of the same original` Halloween` by Carpenter, and has retained the watchability and suspense of the original. Moreover, the murders in the second part seemed to me much more spectacular and impressive than in the Puritan original. I think that if the unfair atmosphere of the original is returned to the film, the first places in the hearts of horror fans are guaranteed to him.
