A weak scenario with a primitive story and teenage logic is ... in principle, expected for a reboot of the MCU from a toy manufacturer. G.I. Joe is not even a comic book, just children's toys, the so-called. "Soldiers". It would be strange to count on Hasbro's deep storyline with elaborate characters.
The problem is that visually and in scale, the film is also not impressive, even in IMAX. Scenes with motorcycles look stylish and effective, but there are few of them, from the rest I was pleasantly surprised only by the giant anacondas. The film is so visually dull that I wanted to sleep directly during the battles; and now this is already abnormal, because there is nothing more to look at here.
Among all the actors, I only liked Samara Weaving. Peter Mensah, a tribute to American tolerance, was remembered, all the others, as they say, "look the same," but not because they are Asians. It's just that they are all faceless, extras. The film can be watched ... well, fans of G.I. Joe, if they exist; one cannot say that he is bad - rather, none.
The situation could have been saved by an adult age rating, especially since it is this character who certainly disposes to him due to edged weapons, but ... Hasbro's target audience is not even high school students. This is the main problem: the film will not be interesting to those who play "soldiers" - it is "more mature", and to those who are a little older, it will not be interesting because it is a child's toy.
