Where to begin? What to write? It's probably like asking a person to say what love is or what death is. It's hard even to watch this movie. How do you think I can tell you about him, and even more so, say whether he is good or bad? I always like to expand on how the film is staged, how good or bad the actors are, the music, the special effects, and so on. Now I can hardly write a couple of sentences about Mulholland Drive. Probably the most appropriate word in this case is confusion. Or maybe even shock. Films like this cannot help but sink into the soul and tear it into small pieces. Let be. The main thing is that you saw THIS.
We saw Naomi Watts play. Her grace, her perfection, her eroticism in every movement. People like her are not called stars. They are called actors, real actors, living in their roles as in their own lives. We saw how Laura Harring plays. This is the tragedy of her character, and hopelessness, and detachment. To play such a role is a true art worthy of the loudest applause. Saw David Lynch see. As no one else sees. He sees only these two women, trapped in a world that invents itself, which lives by its own laws, terrible laws and which do not give any other ways. And there is only one way - Mulholland Drive. A lifelong road.
