The astonishing director Krzysztof Kieslowki. All my life to pursue my goal, filming picture after picture, without bending over to politicians, and then to producers. A movie about people and their relationships.
In White, the director explores the theme of revenge. Not that cold and angry that Dumas had, but somewhat different. The husband continues to love his wife, even though she did what she did to him. And in the final scene, he stands with tears streaming down his cheeks.
His revenge is kind of tender, loving. Particularly interesting is the contrast when, at the beginning of the film, the husband does not understand what is being said to him in French, and at the end the wife does not understand what is being said to her in Polish. Do not do evil to people, for it can then return to you like a boomerang.
Well, and, of course, the whole action is accompanied by very beautiful music. This he still has in my opinion from the time of the Decalogue. But it was so by the way.
