Before the Marvel title section, this movie already creates an atmosphere of absurdist jokes, which is very similar to the prequel 'Thor: Ragnarok' (2017). If you've seen this movie, then yes, it's generally a glimpse of this movie. My POV, I love it, haha... However, the absurdism of this film is really unexpected, and somehow Taika Waititi as a director proves his ability to keep it relevant or relevant to our current situation. Always offering fresh jokes that are unorthodox, authentic and connected to the audience.
The plot of this film is really about 'love' and 'thunder. Self-criticism, emptiness and anger over love and thunder. Why the thunder? That's the secret, lol. On the plus side, viewers are encouraged to focus on these movie plots and absurd jokes. Very entertaining and funny because absurdism always acts like something doesn't make sense. Great story, jokes, moral value, storytelling and visuals, especially the music - the most unexpected and striking marketing. SORRY, NO SPOILER. Also, it looks like Thor will be the next romantic superhero besides Spider-Man. Romantic, powerful, funny and emotional is the perfect description of Thor's personality in the future.
The minuses are that too many jokes create a not so romantic atmosphere of love, not really about the most powerful superhero or the classic 'force', and it really promotes the music - too much, but I love it! Lol. Finally, 'Thor: Love and Thunder' (2022) is unaffiliated and said important things about the expanded Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCEU). It focuses only on Thor.
BUT it's really worth seeing in the theater! 'Comedy' is what we really need to ease those special chaotic moments, and 'superhero' is what we need to feel energetic, hopeful and not feel silly!? P.S., I'm really into Taika Waititi films because the absurdism of this film is really beyond my imagination.
