Finally something worthwhile lately, a chiseling action flick from David Litch, who directed John Wick and Deadpool 2.
A "ladybug" mercenary (who has no luck at all), played by the incomparable Brad Pitt, who sees a therapist and tries to find his zen (karma is not an empty word for him), replaces another mercenary "Reznik" who is sick, and takes the task - to get the case from a super high-speed train with stops lasting exactly one minute, but, as usual, it cannot be so simple, and he is not the only one who needs this case...
A train full of charismatic mercenary characters who don't pull the blanket each on themselves, but complement each other and the overall beautiful picture (the color scheme, the costumes, the shooting, yes even Aaron Taylor-Johnson's mustache, everything is pleasing to the eye). The cool comic-clip introductions of the main characters, the cozy dialogues, and the playfulness of the characters' fates (failures/luck) make you smile. The well-chosen music accentuates the film's charm.
I don't even know what to complain about, I liked everything so much, the only thing Litch did not realize was the samurai abilities of Hiroyuki Sanada and the hand-to-hand combat skills of Andrew Koji playing father and son in the movie.
There's a wall between us, but there's a window in it, mmm, or rather a door (c) ladybug
A door to decent, light, comedic action, with cool hand-to-hand combat, a perfect main character, appealing secondary characters (especially Tangerine and Lemon), a couple of super cameos, with a delightful dynamic that you won't even notice two and a half hours fly by without thinking, get comfortable on this train and enjoy.
