How tragic and painful it is to realize that the person you love is no longer yours! I was in a similar situation. The feeling really sucks. I want to throw myself on his neck and shout out to the whole world, "YOU ARE ME, MY OWN (just like I am his)!!! But no, the train has left. Your pride and confidence has gone somewhere along with the love of your (former) young man... One pity. That I didn't have a gay friend.
The movie really makes you think about what you care about. Shows you what you shouldn't do. You don't have to forget yourself! After all, you don't forget the love that lasted 9 years. You don't forget those moments that make you feel warm and comfortable in your soul.
Selfishness?! No. Every girl (at least in her head) can do anything unbelievable, worthless and disgusting in the fight for her lover, just to make sure he stays with her. But no, there are no happy endings. There are only a fraction of successful endings. Maybe Jules got lucky after that wedding. Maybe she'll find her true destiny. But we won't find out. This movie is about how Michael and Kim found each other and, against all odds, kept the spark of love that Jul tried so hard to blow out...
This story is worthy of your attention. Whether you will be watching it with your significant other or alone.
