Of all the thrillers I know and of the thriller as a genre in general, I prefer movies like 'Sneakers'. Smart, with a real and believable plot, with good acting, impeccable staging, dashing intrigue, with meaning and the idea that permeates the entire movie (by the way, the idea of the movie is very relevant today - power is in the hands of those who have more information, not guns or money).
With a script that can captivate even just by ear, without a picture, like a good book, with colorful and original characters, each of whom would be an image, a personality, a living person, and not katonno-template hero, which abound in most American thrillers.
In 'Sneakers', on the other hand, thanks to the superb acting of such masters of their craft as Redford, Aykroyd, Jackson, etc., we get a whole gallery of diverse and lively characters with flaws and strengths. In the end, I love it when the actions of the characters are truly meaningful, and the movie itself is witty, funny, good natured and not without an element of satire....
There's plenty of that in 'Sneakers'. That's why I love this movie and choose it from the myriad of American thrillers, where monsters, superheroes, aliens and other nonsense dwell. Sure, they can be interesting too, but if I want to see a real good movie, I watch 'Sneakers' - they won't let me down!
