I liked the movie. It was even memorable. The location is interesting: a skyscraper with luxury apartments. Beauty and luxury in good contrast to the attack of creepy monsters. The palace that became a prison.
Nothing "illogical", in the sense of implausible, in the behavior of the characters I did not notice. I think if I and my friends were in this situation - an invasion by who knows what for - we would have been just as confused, simply because sitting still and waiting would have been even scarier.
The attempts of ordinary everyday people to survive in total chaos and horror are perfectly shown.
The characters and the "moral of the fable" are also quite clear. While everything was going well, the characters behaved rather self-centered, and in the face of mortal danger, it immediately became clear which relationships were valuable and which were not. Because of his desire to protect his loved ones, the protagonist manages to gradually overcome the alien compulsion, even after... not to spoil it, let's say: he's almost completely dead.
I can't help but note another untranslated title. "Oblivion", "Interstellar", "Skyline"... Sound, and yet a little funny. Why can't you say Oblivion, Interstellar, Skyline?
It was a pleasure to watch! Great views of the city and a variety of monstrosities.
