Golden Jaw...
Roy Scheider's character is the perfect father and the perfect cop, devoted to the people he serves, in one person. And Roy Scheider himself perfectly plays the role of Martin Brody for the second time. Fans of the first part and Steven Spielberg's movies can say as much as they want that the first part is perfect and give low marks to the sequel, but to be honest, the sequel was much more atmospheric than the original.
Gone to Sea...
Yes, the sequel doesn't explain where the shark appeared in the coastal waters again, but this is typical for most sequels of big franchises, so only the most ardent skeptic can consider it as a minus.
The first part was a stretched shark hunt, but the second part is more about the fear of the shark, no one was hunting it and had to kill it to save the children. And that changes the very priorities of the narrative.
May the savior come!
There's also a mention of Hooper in the sequel, who's out on some expedition on the 'Aurora' and won't return until spring. Because of which Brody is alone this time in the upcoming battle against the shark.
The plot development itself is the same: the shark kills one man after another, and the mayor again does not believe that a shark could have appeared in his waters. Brody gets fired from the police force and is forced to set out to save the children.
Instead of a lengthy shark hunt, a lengthy shark oppression of children stranded in the open ocean. The best part of the franchise, but anyone who loves Steven Spielberg's pictures will never admit it. And for nothing...
