One of the few vampire films that is enjoyable to watch. In most of these paintings "bloodsuckers" are depicted as some kind of animals devoid of common sense, thinking only about food, tearing the victim to pieces, with huge fangs, turning into bats, etc. There is no such notorious banality and prejudice in the depiction of a vampire, which pleases.
Vampires are endowed with an intellect that stands above animal instincts. Personally, I am glad that the filmmakers moved away from the connection of vampires with God, showing them simply as a different kind of human evolution. Let's not forget about werewolves, although I don't really like them, I liked them here. In Another World, the plot is also unusual and interesting: a war between creatures so similar in nature is a great idea.
Of course, the actors were also delighted, especially Kate Beckinsale. Before that, I knew her only from Pearl Harbor, and I got the impression that she is an actress for dramas and melodramas. But here she appears before the viewer in a completely unusual way: a vampire warrior with an irresistible desire to exterminate all werewolves.
Michael Corwin also played well, talented. But personally, I don't like it. I would give this role to Chris Evans or Jensen Ackles. In my opinion, it would have turned out even better, more spectacular or something, but again, more spectacular for me.
In general, the film is amazingly thought out and staged, both from the director's and from the actor's side.
