It's been a long time since I've looked forward to a movie like this one. I was expecting to get as much fan enjoyment out of it as I did from 'No Way Home', but apparently there's nothing to beat Spidey anymore. However, it's not as bad as Multiverse of Madness, and it's not without Strange's stuff, so I was still able to get high.
Of course, it's pure fanservice, but I'm so glad to fall for it! That's what the movie was made for, and that's why I went to see it. I think it's silly to perceive it in any other way and build other expectations from it. You have to understand what you are watching and come prepared. I watched with a friend who had seen almost no superhero movies, and he didn't understand what was happening on the screen at all. The story in the Deadpool threequel is as non-self contained as possible and is kept on sheer references, passphrases, mentions, quotes and so on - keep that in mind.
Also, the movie has a fat bolt on the logic of its own franchise and the laws of the universes it weaves in here. To list all the inconsistencies, illogic, and plot holes would not be enough for any character limit anywhere, so just trust that there is no logic to be found there at all. Sometimes it even gets to the point of absurdity, but.... being a fanboy, I'm willing to turn a blind eye to anything in return for what this movie gives.
Specifically fanservice, yes. In terms of the number of references and characters from other movies, Deadpool and Wolverine are surpassed, except for Player Prepared. Of the comic book movies, however, I can't think of another such sweeping example. Even if you've watched all the trailers and promos, you're still in for a ton of surprises and surprises. Some of them even made me clap my hands and squeak with joy. As with the plot holes, listing all the references and cameos would also be too much to list in any text. It would also be spoilerish, so I'll refrain.
However, even if you remove fanservice, the movie still has some funny jokes, a lot of action (the one-shot drive-by scene is my favorite in this sense), cool Reynolds (and even more than one), powerful Jackman (I doubted that he would be able to adequately look like Wolverine after Logan, but I was wrong - now, as Deadpool himself said, he will be exploited until the age of 90); his canonical comic-book costume, which doesn't even look as ridiculous as one might think, although the mask was still unnecessary (but it allowed to replace Hugh with a young relief understudy in the torso-baring moment); and the stunning Emma Corrinne (one of the most beautiful young actresses who finally starred in a big blockbuster, which I hope I'll start seeing more of). By the way, her ability to get inside her head (literally) visually is demonstrated in an extremely effective and original way.
Anyway, I'm glad the Deadpool and Wolverine duo happened after all, and Disney dared to make an 18+ rated movie for the first time in their history. Hopefully they won't stop there and create a separate Marvel R segment, which has already been rumored. The fact that we'll see this couple on our screens again is pretty clear. Especially if the movie becomes a hit, which is likely, the Mouse House will milk every last drop out of them. Now I'm waiting for Fantastic Four and another crossover of everyone with everyone else. Although a definite crossover with the Four has already happened in this movie, but I won't spoiler.
