The not quite beautiful title of the movie - and in fact on DVD it was released as 'I Walked with a Zombie', which is more pleasant on the ear - nevertheless can't spoil the impression of watching it. As it is not surprising, the horror movie made more than 65 years ago and now looks not frightening, but quite dynamic and even dramatic.
From the first minutes, the dialogs are engaging - oh, they are truly beautiful and imaginative! Sometimes you catch yourself thinking that you are not watching a movie, but leafing through a book. But it's true - look who's writing the movie! Charlotte Brontë herself, the author of Jane Eyre! And then there's more. Curious shooting, unexpected ending, soulful music and songs that you want to download - it can not leave indifferent, unless, of course, you are not a principled opponent of classical Hollywood and not a rabid fan of American remakes (by the way, if you believe imdb information, soon we will see a remake of this movie performed by the author of the tenth Jason). In general, the movie looks quite fresh, for example, the scenes of dancing in Ukrova make a very strong impression, and at least intriguing. And we have no right to expect more from a movie of the old days of the deep.
