It's a completely unique movie that consists entirely of gags.
It's one of the best, if not the best, of its genre.
It is a parody of everything at once - spy movies, Elvis, bed scenes, the Western view of the GDR, the habit of putting feet on the table, any scene we know in the movies, every cliché.
Moreover, the gags lie deep. A good understanding requires a viewer's experience, in some places knowledge of history and even literature:
For example, how many people noticed that when the priest leads the protagonist out of the prison cell, muttering something under his nose, he does not read a prayer at all, but reads out a table of declension of Latin pronouns?
And so it goes throughout.
The only drawback of this movie is that the thought is constantly scratching in my head: how many more jokes have not reached me?
Though - who knows - maybe that's a virtue.
