A classic of the early 80's edgy mysticism, a truly underrated movie. Although the events of the movie take place against the historical backdrop of the early 40s, The Keep captures the spirit of the 80s admirably.
This is evidenced by the talented direction of the now very famous (but then completely unknown) Michael Mann, the presence of young and wonderful actors such as Jürgen Prochnow, Gabriel Byrne and even “Gandalf Grey-White” himself, “Magneto” himself, Sir Ian Mc Kelen; special effects, for their time are amazing. Just great looking and the demon himself (here is a specialist in makeup tried), his image, more than a dozen years later borrowed in such cult films as “Wishful Thinker” and “Jeepers Creepers.
