Ah, old Candy! How many wonderful minutes he gave the audience with his charisma! A daring, charming, naive, kindly fat man. That's how he's remembered by many. If Candy played in any movie, he involuntarily became the main character, pushing the rest, no less interesting actors, to the background. There was something about him that the others didn't have...Maybe a look or a smile? Or his eternal clumsiness...Nevertheless, he was special, certainly talented. In this case, I would like to talk briefly about the movie 'Uncle Buck', which has become something dear to me, like an old faithful friend, like some memorable place.
In general, this movie is so kind and interesting that it can be recommended as a sedative. The plot is simple and interesting, without any surprises or twists:watching a huge uncle babysit the kids is a huge heap of fun, especially when he bakes a big, shapeless cake for the little birthday boy, Miles. While his parents are away, Buck manages to make friends with all of his nephews, though he's given to it by a long shot. The acting allows you to fully enjoy the movie. What else do you need for the recipe of a great family movie? Perhaps, some happy ending, which the movie ended with: everyone is together, everyone is happy, no one is hurt. An absolute classic by an absolute genius, Hughes. I have always loved and love old American movies, you can watch them endlessly, never get bored, because there is a soul in them, unlike modern Western cinema. So 'Uncle Buck' is probably the most soulful.
Everyone has such movies that he is ready to revisit time after time, year after year. Like a tradition, like 'The Irony of Fate' on December 31st. Why do we love them so much? The answer is simple - for us they are much more than just movies. They are like good music, soothing and uplifting. It's like a fond memory of something long past, it's like a hug from your mom. I am not overly sentimental or exaggerating, I have my own associations...I hope you get my point.....
