Oddly enough, the movie has only a literal connection to Rob Grier (the bearded founder of the New Romance) - in other words, the script was written by Grier's female namesake. It came out a little too simple (not all the way through), and generally depicts the idea of 'debauchery leads to debauchery'.
Image is actually about people. How Jacques' (Carl Parker) detached observation eventually makes him an active, dominant male. How power turns to submission, and blondes are fucking good women.
The range of color is okay, the red of the rose (which was plucked - sd. double meaning), will loom until the middle. Then the rock 'n' roll comes in and the show gets going.
I don't know, it's not a bad movie, and it's far from pornography, although sometimes it slips into piss and whips. I might even revisit it.
