The vampires of the insect world ...
To be honest, I was counting on another talentless cheap trash, but I got a completely digestible horror movie. Here's another proof that the old horror is much better than the modern one. Previously, even about ticks could be removed cool.
About the creators. Producer - Brian Yuzna (needs no introduction). Tony Randall is in the stage director's chair. We have already met Randall (and more than once), remember. The director is uneven, which is really there. Successful meeting - HellRaiser 2. Unsuccessful - "Amityville 1992: A Matter of Time".
The plot is simple (some would even say banal) - difficult teenagers are brought to rest in the forest. Near their house, a local redneck grows weed. Thanks to the chemicals, the mites turn into giant voracious creatures.
In all honesty, for this kind of films, the plot does not have to be fancy. Yes, teenagers for the hundredth time. Yes, for the hundredth time they run through the forest (only instead of a maniac in a mask we have ticks). Let it be, there is nothing wrong with that. Most importantly, the "Ticks" looked easy and casual. An hour and a half passed quickly.
The fattest plus is surprisingly decent special effects (obviously not a hack a la Asaylum). Rather disgusting and bloody sketches with ticks slipped by. And for the huge tick - special thanks. The most interesting thing is that the budget is not too big, but Tony Randall arranged everything so competently, you definitely did not have to get bored.
And there are famous people among the actors. The main role was played by the young Seth Green (Ono). Clint Howard (Ice Cream) loomed in the background. Therefore, if you like some disgusting (in a good way) horror films about insects (so to speak - do not limit yourself, ah-hee-hee), I recommend you "Ticks".
