If you describe the plot of the movie, even in great detail, enthusiastically and as positively as possible, you still get some 'snotty bullshit'. In essence it is so...but how subtle, heartfelt and professionally filmed everything is. And if in the beginning the movie is unhurried and unhurried in Asian way, then in the second part every frame, every word hits right in the heart, leaving no chance for tear glands to stay dry.
From the very beginning it is clear that our heroes are not given to be together. It's hard for a non-Korean to grasp that the whole first half of the movie we are clearly given to understand that these people in real life would have very little chance for mutual happiness. This is especially clear from the reveal of Soo Jin's character. But even when a miracle happens, they, already living together, face a new challenge that they will try to overcome with all their might. And that's what this movie is about. It's about true love. That it is a priceless gift that changes not only a person's life, but also his or her own. That it's worth fighting for. And that you can't always win...
The movie is very sad and it is all imbued with a special mood of Love. But in the meantime it leaves a pleasant aftertaste, which, I think, everyone will have its own. I still had the taste of sweet Seoul air and Coca-Cola on my tongue for a long time....
