Coffy' is a 100% blaxploitation movie and one of Pam Grier's first roles. The plot of this movie is as follows: Nurse Coffey takes revenge on the scumbags and drug addicts who got her little sister hooked on drugs. Thanks to a 'time-worn' prostitute - she gets on the trail of a pimp and a drug dealer, and is hired by him. That's when all the fun begins....
The style of the movie is reminiscent of 'Jackie Brown'. Immediately it becomes clear where comrade Q.T. draws his 'inspiration' from. And he draws it from such funny B-movies of the 70s. Here, for example, the last scene in 'Kill Bill' (dialog between Thurman and Carradine) is very similar to the same scene in 'Coffy'.
I can't call 'Coffy' a thrash movie. It's just a cult thing that everyone should know without exception. The movie is bright, dynamic and interesting. Pam's character is fully revealed. She is very inventive and it's just nice to look at her - a gorgeous woman.
In short, the movie has everything - beautiful girls, female breasts in the whole screen, chases, shooting and Grier, driving a stolen car into the wall of the house, shooting without missing from his trusty shotgun. I also liked the scene where the naive pimp is tied by the throat to the car and dragged down the road. It made me smile. Very funny fight scene in the brothel, and others are also good. Directing is excellent, all the actors play well (also in the movie you can notice a very young Sid Haig), the script is full of finds. A real cool movie!
