A brutal and truthful film about the injustice that America spreads throughout the world with its heartless policy of imposing ‘democracy’. Fear of communists so clouded the minds of US presidents (Carter and Reagan) that they preferred the bloody dictator Major Max, trained in the best US military schools to torture and kill people. This was yet another mistake by America that cost hundreds of thousands of lives and turned the lives of millions into hell. The “death squads,” the brainchild of the CIA, carry out regular purges. People who do not have a cedula, a document confirming their right to vote in elections, are subjected to repression and disappear without a trace. But, of course, everyone knows what happens to them.
The film was made in 1986, and the war in El Salvador began in 1980 and continued until 1994. Not all documents have been declassified yet, but the parts that have been made available to the public are enough to understand the scale of the tragedy. The film is based on real events. I highly recommend watching it.
The film is extremely realistic, leaves a deep impression, forces you to look at world politics in a new way, and fuels hatred towards US foreign policy.
