I should point out right away that this film didn't grab me, either with its trailer or its plot. I went to see the wonderful Tom Felton, whom I missed terribly, and I got my fill of him.
The film is as ordinary as it gets. If I had to choose an age group for the audience, I would say 12-13 years old, no older, no younger. From here on, if I may, I will evaluate the film from the perspective of a child who might enjoy it at the age of 12-13.
The beginning is quite lively, the plot develops smoothly, the characters' actions are quite logical, and the ending is no less predictable, with a hint of a sequel.
There were a few humorous moments that I personally liked, and I laughed. Overall, it's a one-time watch.
On the downside, well... Guys, this movie is not for adults. There's nothing here that you'd want to discuss or analyze: everything is simple and straightforward. Here's the message, here's the moral. Anyone who has seen at least one film of this genre (such as Divergent) will immediately understand who the bad guy is and what will happen next. As for the acting: Tom Felton is great, yes, not everywhere, but for the most part I really liked his performance; the supporting characters are okay, the extras also did their best, creating some kind of atmosphere.
The set and props look like they were bought with a pack of instant noodles. And while the set design is passable, it seems like they didn't even try to think about the characters' costumes (like exoskeletons) and just threw together whatever they had lying around at home. The few special effects are also mediocre.
