I just finished watching this movie. I really enjoyed it.
A man named George decides to end his life. After jumping off a roof, he doesn’t die and ends up in the hospital. There, he receives treatment and recovers, but in his nightmarish dreams, he kills people, and in the morning, it turns out that they are actually dying. His friends try to figure out what is really happening to him and do everything they can to help, while George wanders alone through the city, trying to find answers to his questions...
This is the second film by Guy Magar (who, by the way, played a cameo role as a taxi driver in the film) that I’ve had the chance to watch. And to be honest, "Children of the Corn 7" falls far short of "Retribution". I was pleasantly surprised by the director’s early work. I also want to single out the film’s score. All the music in the film hit the right notes for me. The main theme at the beginning and end of the film is especially good. I’ll be brief about the actors: they’re good. The film is full of dark imagery, and there are brutal, bloody scenes. There were some pretty creepy moments.
One downside: the film could have been a little shorter. But overall, "Retribution" is exactly what a horror film should be. Because it is a horror film through and through!
