The tragedy of September 11 affected me deeply. I clearly remember that live broadcast showing the fire and the subsequent collapse of the World Trade Center towers; it was very painful to watch.
Over the six years following the tragedy, many documentaries were made, but then, in 2006, Paul Greengrass directed a film not about the planes that crashed into the skyscrapers, but about the plane that was supposed to crash into the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. About people, about emotions, about life—this film doesn’t entertain us with special effects or acting; it simply shows the real, brutal world.
I don’t want to say anything more; the film is very heavy, and by the end I simply couldn’t hold back my tears—I cried.
