Childish fears—and very stupid ones, I might add. When the cops were searching his factory, only a complete moron wouldn’t have thought to check his van as well.
It’s very similar to children’s plays, where the hero on stage refuses to notice the obvious—that danger is lurking from the other corner of the stage, where the villain is hiding. And the kids in the audience are yelling, “Look over there!” but he refuses to react to them—yet the whole theater is on the edge of their seats, which is exactly what the show’s organizers were aiming for. It’s the same story here with that van.
All in all, the movie itself is pretty fun and not scary at all, but because of these childish blunders, I’ll give it just a 6. Although those aged 8 and up will surely rate it a 10.
