So, I watched the movie, and, you know, I really liked it. I can’t remember the last time a sci-fi horror movie made me this happy. And today, when I walked out of the theater, I felt even more excited than I did after watching “Spider-Man,” “The Odyssey,” and “Toy Story.” I don’t know why, but this movie really hit the spot.
Well, dinosaurs. What can I say? At first, I couldn’t quite get used to the feathered dinosaurs, because I was used to seeing them the way Spielberg portrayed them in *Jurassic Park*. In that movie, they look more like giant lizards. Here, though, the approach is a little different—some have feathers and other more unusual physical features, and they look nothing like the dinosaurs we’re used to seeing in movies.
At first, it felt a little strange to me, but then I got into it. And overall, I liked that the creators didn’t just copy *Jurassic Park* yet again, but tried to portray the dinosaurs in a slightly different way. I don’t know how scientifically accurate it all is—I haven’t read up on it—but visually, it looks interesting.
And I really liked Ewan McGregor—he’s just great. With Anne Hathaway, you can tell right away that they’re both fantastic, commanding actors. And I really liked Anne Hathaway a lot. She has plenty of powerful dramatic moments here, and at times she really gives it her all. She’s a very strong actress, of course. Her Oscar for *Les Misérables* was well-deserved.
Ewan McGregor is great, too. Together, they made a fantastic duo. When a movie like this features two actors of this caliber, you can feel it right away. They bring emotion to the story, and you find yourself getting caught up not only in what’s happening around you but also in the characters’ own struggles.
And of course, there were moments that were genuinely scary. At times, people in the theater were actually screaming. I haven’t seen the audience react so vividly to a movie in a long time. Sometimes it’s the tension, sometimes the surprises—and it all works really well. Plus, the movie doesn’t try to scare you every single minute. There are calmer moments, there’s drama, and then the tension gradually starts to build again.
Overall, I liked the mix of genres. It has horror, sci-fi, adventure, dinosaurs, and human drama. And it doesn’t feel like a jumbled mess. On the contrary, the movie constantly shifts in tone, so it never gets boring.
I also liked the idea of the time anomaly. I won’t go into details, because it’s better to see for yourself how it all unfolds. I’ll just say that the theme of our world colliding with a completely different era is handled in an interesting way here. And this isn’t just another movie where dinosaurs run around, roar, and devour everyone.
I especially liked the atmosphere. In some scenes, you really feel the danger and the uncertainty. You don’t always know what’s about to happen or where the next threat will come from. I guess that’s exactly what I’ve been missing lately in movies like this—that sense of adventure, when you’re genuinely curious to see what happens next.
All in all, I didn’t expect it, but the movie left a very good impression on me. Sometimes you go to see a big-budget movie expecting something incredible, only to walk out feeling almost nothing. But in this case, I wasn’t expecting much—and in the end, I walked out of the theater genuinely satisfied.
That’s probably why I liked the movie so much. It didn’t try to be some kind of masterpiece for me. It simply gave me what I love going to the movies for in the first place—emotions, suspense, a little fear, an interesting sci-fi concept, and the feeling of a real adventure.
For me, this is definitely one of the most pleasant surprises of the year.
