The film is based on real events that took place in the mid-sixties in Detroit. After the Second World War, there was a massive migration of black people to the north of the United States. Migrants fled from difficult conditions and hoped to start a new life, better than before. However, all their dreams and hopes of equality were just an illusion. The African Americans began to live in disadvantaged and overpopulated areas of the city. And indigenous people had to move to the suburbs due to many emigrants. Gradually, the number of black people increased more and more. Soon they became an uncontrollable crowd. Migrants caused chaos in the Detroit streets, attacked cops, robbed shops and houses... Detroit 2160p is a historical drama without too much Hollywood pathos. The filmmakers tried to convey the facts and entourage of that hard time as faithfully as possible. According to audience reviews and critics' opinions the authors of the film managed to achieve the desired result. The story turned out to be tense, realistic and motivating to empathy.
