Game Over 4K 1989 FRENCH

I came across this film quite by accident, and my hands are itching to write at least a couple of lines about it, because I don't see any more reviews, and people, probably, before the choice to watch or not, want to have at least some idea of it.

I was really amused by the plot of this film combined with the genre. And I didn't quite believe that there would be no comedy in this film, I believed that it was only the French version of the movie "Home Alone", even though it was released a year earlier. As a result, we were shown a drama that, if the adult does not touch, then the child should definitely be hooked, because the fears of every normal minor are displayed here - it is worth remembering that unexpected shot with the dog ...

The main setting for the action is the large mansion. Of course, there are enough rooms and bells and whistles there. I expected Thomas to not only dress like Rambo, but be even worse than Kevin to lay traps: with his temperament, brains and capabilities, this is quite possible. However, this is not a comedy, but a thriller, and it does not allow you to smile often. The hero often cries, defending himself and his grandfather, who is almost blind, and Santa, quite capable of killing, is in no hurry, walks with a measured step after them, like Freddy Krueger.

Camera work is, of course, daunting. Filmed in the style of classic horror, many moments make you remember 'The Shining'. What can be said about the line of mom and lover who are worried about Thomas is that it is transparent and boring. The musical accompaniment is quite good: given the specifics of the presentation of the story, it can be called pseudo-Christmas, mixed, of course, with the avant-garde.

But what I never understood was the meaning, the main idea of the film. Especially remembering the sluggish end, you ask yourself this question. But I think it is revealed in the epigraph to the film. Perhaps if I say that this is a Christmas horror movie for children, I will get to the point, although I'm not sure if this genre is even suitable for children.
