This is a sequel to the 80s comedy that launched Keanu Reeves' career. More precisely, its two parts, they were not masterpieces, but acquired the status of a cult.
And now, 30 years later, the creators decided to file a sequel.
Reeves and Winter get used to the roles of Bill and Ted again, and they do it as if they never left the characters. On the one hand, the actors are great, they played exactly those Bill and Ted whom the viewer remembers. But on the other hand, 30 years have passed in the plot too. They are 50-year-old adults with wives and children, they cannot behave at 50 as they did at 20. But this is exactly how they behave. It turns out that the viewer watches for an hour and a half the behavior of adolescents with the faces and bodies of adult uncles. Personally, it really bothered me. Okay, if only the script could play it somehow. Like they were in a coma for 30 years and therefore their behavior and habits have not changed. But no, they seemed to have lived their lives in stagnation, and maybe even degraded altogether. But if we discard this minus (although it is very large and bold), then the whole film is not bad. It is unlikely that even dedicated fans had strong expectations, so against this background, everything is not bad.
And time travel stories are always interesting. Of course, this picture cannot be put on a par with 'Back to the Future' (there is little that can be put on a par with this masterpiece), but it still deserves its place. It was interesting to observe how the geniuses of music from different eras, such as Mozart, Armstrong, and so on, unite.
But most importantly, the film has an important message. Unite the whole world for a good cause. And in our time it is really very important. And in this case, music is used as a tool for uniting humanity. What could be better?
I would also give one point for Samara Weaving. Yes, she is not particularly good at playing here. But after 'Nanny' it is difficult to remain indifferent to her.
