Each of us can easily name the best summer in our life. Three months of carefree adventures. It doesn't matter if it's 70 or 21 - everyone had such a tender time. And, of course, the heroes of the new Disney / Pixar cartoon - 'Luca'.
The plot tells us about two unusual boys - Luca and Alberto. The fact is that they are not really people, but sea monsters that live on the bottom of the sea. They make their way to the surface in the coastal Italian town of Porto Rosso to achieve their dreams. In the guys' fantasies, she is symbolized by the brand new Vesta moped, which must be obtained at any cost.
'Luka' talks about true friendship and growing up in a way that will move anyone. This is an incredible adventure filled to the brim with Italian flavor. Here and there, funny phrases in this beautiful language will be heard from the lips of the characters.
For all that, 'Luca' is a deeply personal story of debut director Enrico Casarosa. He literally describes his childhood in Genoa, which strongly resembles another Italian creator - Federico Fellini. Without a doubt, the renowned director had a strong influence on the animator. You can feel it in the general atmosphere.
Luke is a summertime tale that is superbly written. All the characters are in their place, and the music, landscapes, and the speech itself are the universal Italian language for all - beautiful, passionate, imaginative. This cartoon definitely has every chance of getting an Oscar next year, because DIsney's original and copyright flashes happen, unfortunately, less and less.
