An extraordinary animated film. Language does not turn around to call it a cartoon.

This is exactly the film. Moreover, it is clearly not designed for a children's audience, but for an adult viewer, whose perception has already been wiser by life experience.

A picture filled with feelings, a kind of aesthetics inherent only in full-length Japanese animation and meaning. I think that this kind of work can be considered animation art.

Aesthetics here is associated with the originality of the drawing, the depiction of details, when everyday objects complement the appearance and character of the characters, filling the frames with the magic of animation charm. The colors are dim, as if muted and at the same time reminiscent of the colors of films of the mid-20th century.

I really liked how the main characters are thought out and drawn. It shows most of their long life, over the course of which their appearance changes, but their worldview and character remain largely the same. All this is very talentedly conveyed. As a result, the characters turn out to be practically alive, they cannot be perceived as drawings in any way.

Incomparable music behind the scenes. It complements the story, and serves as a beautiful background, and additionally contributes to the full immersion in the unfolding action.

The central story is presented in a very original way. Reality and allegory, past and present, cinema and life, peace and war are intertwined in it. Moreover, everything is done and connected with each other in such a way that many episodes are not perceived as separate elements of the mosaic, but as a whole.

The main idea of ​​the film is the meaning of human life and love, as a great strong spiritual feeling that guided the heroine through her whole life, through many years until her death and, I really believe in it, even after her. Love, met once in early adolescence, almost still in school childhood, which struck an ardent girl's heart, young mind and imagination so that nothing in life could overshadow those short minutes. A real life story has found repeated reflection and repetition in the films in which the main character was filmed. And at the end of the film, the author tells us through the lips of one of the heroines - the great actress - the main idea for what she really lived, what was the meaning of her whole life ... But you need to see it yourself.

This is an amazing movie! One of the best animated stories I've seen in my life, with a very subtle and peculiarly inspired implementation.
