Throughout the whole movie, I could not help feeling bored and aware of the stupidity on the screen. The main actors, Chris Pratt and Sam Neal, play incredibly passive and, if you think about it, their role in the film itself is insignificant. On the other hand - Anna Dern and Jeff Goldblum played great, which makes Sam Neal in particular look like ballast, nothing more.
The film's synopsis deceives you, the main problem of the film will NOT be the dinosaurs, but the evil corporation that raises the megasaranchs. There is, of course, a subplot of the two superpredators, Gigantosaurus and Tyrex, but it consists of a brief mention in the middle of the movie and a small fight at the end.
Other than the intro, nowhere does it talk about 'dinosaurs and humans coexisting', the basis of the plot is extremely unclear, then it's about a unique girl and a baby velociraptor, then it's about fighting a mega-corporation, and both of these themes are very superficially revealed. The main villain himself feels like a victim, admittedly of his own idiotic actions, but still. He has a base with very limited access, or two strangers may wander into the places they want to go. Caught McGuffin in the form of a girl - she escaped in front of him. Of the park's entire system of protection, there is only aerial, against flying dinos and the occasional code locks, no security is out of the question.
All in all - even in isolation from the previous parts of the franchise - the film came out very weak, in terms of plot.
