To Kill a Mockingbird 4K 1962

"To Kill a Mockingbird" is practically included in all the prestigious and authoritative top films compiled by various movie critics, film critics and other figures in the world of cinema. And guess what - this movie really deserves all its regalia. It may not be the best movie on earth, but at least it's one of them. And if it happens that in a universal catastrophe the best films have to be saved so that posterity has something left over, then To Kill a Mockingbird will definitely have to be saved.

A film that shows the world through the eyes of a child is so touching. At the same time, in spite of all the correctness and a kind of moralizing, there is no dogma inherent in similar films, that this is the way to act and not otherwise. Like the main character, a six-year-old girl, on whose behalf the narration is narrated and through whose eyes we see the story being told, we understand the meaning of such human values as justice, kindness, love, friendship, and so on. It is films like that which do not let your heart go stale and make you feel that there are some bright sides to this world besides misfortunes.

I would like to write a lot about what I saw in the movie, but why? If you have seen the movie, most will know what I mean. If you haven't seen it, by all means see it, and I hope it doesn't disappoint you.

Well, of course, the film probably wouldn't have made it as it presented itself to the audience if it weren't for the wonderful performers. They say that the best actors are children and animals; they either play superbly or terribly. In this case, the children's ensemble embodies the first option, not without reason that Mary Badham, who performed the role of Eyeball, the girl on whose behalf the story is told, was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Gregory Peck. Hollywood Legend. Here he played one of his best roles, which was awarded a statuette by the Film Academy. Seemingly, at first glance, a simple role that does not require any physical transformation, without much emotional mood swings of the hero, while being terribly positive without any flaws. But believe me, when you look at Peck's character, it's not him in front of you, it's Atticus Finch. A simple and humble lawyer from Alabama, a widower with two children to raise. There is an economic crisis in the country. But Atticus is an authority in the eyes of those around him and especially his children. Here he is an ideal father, who can explain everything, understand and give his children love, as well as instill in them simple human values and morals. He is the embodiment of goodness and justice. But these concepts are very shaky, and overdoing them can simply slide into a "white and fluffy cotton candy", so luscious that it becomes uncomfortable. Peck, on the other hand, plays in such a way that the ideals shown by his character do not make everything sweet and sticky, but on the contrary, he shows the necessary integrity and firmness. The actor plays in such a way that you believe him and not only believe him, the character he plays wants to imitate and be like him.
