It's a terrific movie. I didn't expect this from Romero.
There's no vampire clan, no lone hero shooting off numerous bloodsuckers with silver bullets, no love story, no long fangs and black and red cloaks up to his heels (well, maybe in one scene). The film is about something else. The focus is on Martin's personality and his relationship with society. We see the world through his eyes. The world of a lonely man. He needs blood, he's a killer. But at the same time, I couldn't help but empathize with him. He has his own fears, hopes and desires. He is so human... John Amplas looks great in such a role!
The scene with the costumed performance in front of the grandfather was very amusing. Anyone who has seen it will understand.
