The Wages of Fear is a cult French film from 1953 that has become a classic of world cinema. The plot is about four unemployed men who, in search of income, agree to an extremely dangerous job. They have to transport explosive nitroglycerin through hundreds of kilometers of broken roads to put out a fire at an oil well. This journey becomes a test of endurance, courage and stamina. Director Henri-Georges Clouzot creates an atmosphere of unbearable tension, where every step could be the last. The film won many awards and critical acclaim for its dramatic nature, deep psychological exploration of the characters and incredibly realistic portrayal of danger.
