In 1983 Jackie Chan shocked all fans of Hong Kong cinema with the movie 'Project 'A', which became not only a masterpiece of the genre, but also one of the landmark Hong Kong films that presented Jackie Chan's talent in all its glory - as an actor, as a stuntman, as a director of fights and stunts, as a screenwriter, as a director and even as a songwriter and performer.
The second part of the magnificent movie came only 4 years later. During these 4 years Jackie Chan made perhaps 2 of his best films - undisputed masterpieces: 'Police Story' and 'Armor of God', and both films became the leaders of the box office and the founders of numerous sequels.
Therefore, 'Project A'-2' was not as much of a revelation as the first part, because by 1987 people already knew what a classic Jackie Chan was. And in this movie, Jackie did his best work again. This movie is in no way inferior to the same 'Police Story' - incredibly dynamic action, even the standard of action in its purest form. As is typical for any sequel, here Jackie used all the successful finds of the first part, increasing their number.
In this movie there are even more tricks, even more fights, some of which are simply unique! In every scene Jackie proves that human capabilities are not even half explored by physiologists - because it is unbelievable that there can be so much endurance, animal agility and patience in a human being. How do you like, for example, the fall of Jackie from a height of 15 meters through numerous bamboo rafters? And the scariest, according to Jackie himself, stunt of the movie, when he, deciding that he could not really play the brutal burning, stuffed his mouth with red pepper and chewed it? I get a bitter taste in my mouth when I see that, so sincere is Jackie's squirming over that pepper. Life is risky, and Jackie shows that at every turn.
I don't need to list all the good points of the movie - because the movie itself is a success. A classic example of 'Jackie Chan Movie' is another masterpiece of the genre - a crazy mixture of exciting stunts and fights with clowning, to which in 'Project A'-2' almost half of the meter is given.
Of course, there is no sense to say that the script is weak and full of logical inconsistencies - the script is only a reason for the fight, a link, so to speak. And you can only marvel at everything else. By the way, in the final picture, which is not only equipped with the traditional cutting of failed shots, but also gives an opportunity to hear and see singing Jackie Chan once again. A talented man is talented in everything!
