Not to whom of course it may seem strange, but this movie, and the first one naturally, is one of my favorites, which I have watched, without exaggeration, 20 times!
And why not? The plot is interesting and dynamic, brilliant cast, sparkling humor. Each character is an individuality, which have long since become iconic.
So, Barry Sonnenfeld approached with all responsibility to the shooting of the sequel, took into account all the “+” and “-” of the first film, the dose of humor multiplied by 2 and here, get “The Values of the Addams Family”.
The cast in principle has not changed, only there is another very talented and my favorite actress Joan Cusack, in the role of a crazy “Black Widow” , dreaming of getting the fortune of naive Festor Addams, played by the inimitable Christopher Lloyd, but all in order.
The family is preparing for the arrival of a new Addams, and from the first minutes you already realize how unique these people are.
They're different, but different how? There is so much truth, sincerity, love in their words, they are all interesting and individual, and all their lives are accompanied by “black” humor and sarcasm.
Fester, someday you will know the joy of having children and paying strangers to raise them.
All the love for this movie in one review I definitely would not fit in one review, one Wendy Addams jokes can be put in the quote book. Christina Ricci is simply inimitable in this role, her charisma is just off the charts, even a couple of jokes for her character she came up with herself.
- Wensdi, what needs to be said, to the new nanny?
- Be afraid. Be very afraid.
All in all, not every movie becomes a cult movie, characters are copied every Halloween, and phrases go viral.
So what is the secret to this kind of success? In my opinion, all characters should be unique and unrepeatable, not shaded by the grayness of any one person. Love? Naturally! The catchphrases of Morticia and Gomez: “Cara mia” - “Mon savage” ...This is obsessive love, for which you can kill, steal, die, but for which you want to live. Music by the inimitable Mark Shaiman. And, of course, an incredible sense of humor of the heroes, many, many, ten kilograms that would be enough for everyone.
-Mrs. Addams, would you like anesthesia?
-No, thank you, you'd better offer it to the children. -Mrs. Addams.
My conclusion, watch the movie is a must, all cheerful and positive!
