The film begins like this: a lonely wanderer drags a coffin along a washed-out muddy road. There are no beautiful angles - there is dirt everywhere: on the hero's boots, on the floors of his cloak, the coffin, of course, is also covered in mud. The hero of the film is not an undertaker: his clients are in no hurry to use the services. But does he ask them? His name is Django ...
Sergio Corbucci deserves respect: he did not copy the ideas of his great colleague Leone, as if he deliberately distanced himself from him, and his paintings have a completely different character and look different.
Take landscapes, for example. In the frame - prostitutes fighting in the mud and bleeding broken hands, a severed ear - Corbucci makes us enjoy the aesthetics of the disgusting.
The protagonist, played by Franco Nero, as befits in spaghetti westerns, is harsh, laconic (the costs of the genre) and has excellent command of a weapon. In addition, while viewing the picture, you can find out some details from his life. Nero perfectly suited the role of the Knight from the Highway with a dark past.
The composer's work is admirable: in the finale, the powerful theme of 'Django' sounds, undoubtedly one of the best in the history of Westerns.
Please watch this movie for the final scene. The frame that ends the film is forever engraved in the memory ...
Arguably Corbucci's best film and one of the best spaghetti westerns.
