Paddington in Peru 4K 2024

“Paddington in Peru” is an incredibly heartwarming story for the whole family, this time only changing its location from London to Lima, but without losing any of its former charm and lovable immediacy.

The story of a glorious bear who was desperately seeking a warm London welcome is beloved by audiences of all ages and has become the epitome of one of the best modern movie franchises that hasn't hit the dirt in its ten years of existence.

“The Adventures of Paddington” - a movie that has a special charm, because it has so much light, comfort, aesthetics and genuine joy, albeit childishly naive, but one that at times you want to consciously succumb to, regardless of how old you are and what genres of movies you prefer.

In the life of the Browns come changes, time invariably runs forward, the children grow up, everyone has their own interests and points of contact between family members is becoming less and less, and it is the upcoming vacation becomes the starting point in an attempt to revive former relationships. This time the main troublemaker along with the whole family is going on a trip to ancient Peru to see their beloved Aunt Lucy, but the trip takes an unexpected turn and promises them new challenges, fears and dangers, and, of course, a sea of adventures and a lot of impressions, during which everyone is able to realize the meaning of true happiness and how much to overcome to finally find it.

Perhaps the presence of Antonio Banderas in such genre reminds to some extent of “Children of Spies”, or the general character of the picture became more cartoonish, but nevertheless, his role revitalized the story quite well and brought his principles and beliefs into the plot. A bold, but probably not the most successful decision was to replace Sally Hawkins with Emily Mortimer as Mary Brown, even though the latter bears an uncanny resemblance to the performer of her daughter Judy, Madeleine Harris. As a viewer, absolutely do not like such dramatic changes, because they usually do not end up with anything particularly good, remember at least a similar situation with “The Mummy”. In this particular case, Emily Mortimer tried to show herself at her best, however, her attempts to play Hawkins were at times ridiculous and somewhat unproductive. The greatest number of comic moments in the movie were provided by Hugh Bonneville (Henry Brown) and his continuous efforts in trying not to be afraid of everything in the world. In addition, as before Julie Walters (Mrs. Bird) is definitely great in her role, as well as a new face in the film, Olivia Colman in the cartoonish character of a nun.

Perhaps the sequel is somewhat inferior to the second part of the franchise, mostly because of the overall atmosphere, which was firmly associated with something purely English and truly gentlemanly, and it is this pictorial representation of London, grouchy neighbors, torrential rains and the legendary primness of the townspeople that is sorely lacking here. At the same time, the new “Paddington” acquires bright landscapes of tropical jungles, drowning in a riot of greenery and high fluffy clouds, which brings back warm memories of the still, it would seem, recently gone summer and juicy fruits.

“Paddington in Peru” is a movie in the wonderful entertainment genre, which will definitely want to return to even despite the change of locations or characters, it is still dominated by good manners, and the world around seems like a carefree place where only kindness, mercy, support and understanding, literally what is so lacking in reality, and that is why this story is so invaluable.
