The synopses for the movie often mention some kind of monster sneaking into the ship, while nothing of the sort happened in the movie. Apparently, this is how some are trying to portray the movie as an 'Alien' clone. Unlike 'Alien' it's not about the monsters, though their role is not to be denied and it's hard not to note that they are done to perfection. Taking into account that the movie is far from the first class, or B-movie, you are amazed by their quality performance. Not every second-rate movie can boast such special effects that it is impossible to call it thrash. No less qualitative and convincing are the backgrounds and scenery - the blade that gets under the hero's skin, the pyramid and its surrealistic interiors, which are the result of the work of a team of artists, including the then little known James Cameron, who previously worked on the movie 'Battle Beyond the Stars', from where the scenery of the spaceship was borrowed. Incidentally, Cameron borrowed something for 'Galaxy of Terror' from his short film 'Xenogenesis', thanks to which he made his way to Corman's studio. And the severed arm, which Cameron made move by electrocuting it, impressed the producer so much that he was commissioned to direct the sequel to 'Piranha'. And not only that, the movie owes the title of a cult movie. Do not forget about the future Freddy Krueger Robert Englund, and about also shone among the actors of the future famous director of erotic films Zalman King.
