Lilo & Stitch has all the warmth and charm you would expect—it's a delightful, cheerful film that stands on its own merits and reminds you why the original is so beloved. It's one of Disney's best remakes, thanks to Dean Fleischer Kamp's direction.
It's an accurate interpretation of the original animated film, which at times goes its own way, making changes to the plot that fans may find controversial, but which work within the context of the story being told here. Of course, I missed some aspects of the original that were not included in this film, which makes some important moments seem less convincing, depriving them of the thematic nuance that was in the original, but the film did enough to make it work and not seem completely reworked!
I also really liked Maya Kilo as Lilo; she was charming and did a great job with the role, especially considering that the character was created entirely with computer graphics. By the way, Stitch was very cute (and also destructive) here, and his computer graphics were very well done. The other aliens didn't look as good, and the film really rushed through those scenes at breakneck speed, which is perhaps my only criticism of the film. Ultimately, it was just a very enjoyable trip to the cinema, full of laughter, warmth, and emotion. Lilo & Stitch, while unable to surpass its predecessor in any of the major categories, still evokes a lot of positive emotions! A joyful family adventure that retains the chaos and whimsical charm of the original! I think this film will be a big hit with the younger generation.
