The action takes place in a remote village. A gang of workers rapes a young woman. Then a killer appears in camouflage, wearing a motorcycle helmet taped with duct tape and carrying a yellow compressed air cylinder on his back (!!!), armed with a pneumatic hammer, who seems to be “taking revenge” and “killing” not only these workers, but everyone indiscriminately. The case is taken up by a dim-witted sheriff who drives around in a civilian (!) car and a doctor with the rare ability to determine the cause of death down to the smallest detail with just a glance at the corpse (!). Of course, the investigators are in no hurry—they need the killer to kill more people, and when everything is revealed, no one even calls for backup—it would be too easy...
When you read a synopsis like this, you wonder—is it a “bug” or a “feature”? My answer is “bug.” This is not an attempt to confuse the reader or anything like that, but simply a bad script that I have described. And it's not just the script that's bad in the film, but absolutely EVERYTHING.
Let's start with the actors, who are difficult to even call “actors.” Only Rocky Patterson and Michelle Meyer stand out—at least they try.
The director/screenwriter's stupidity is obvious—I'll just say one thing: judging by their figure, the killer is constantly changing gender, and they jump out in front of their victims in such a pathetic and childish way that it makes you want to cry.
The composer “composes” some completely inappropriate keyboard (played on a synthesizer) motifs that create absolutely no mood (i.e., they are unnecessary).
'Special makeup' - considering the fact that ALL the murders are monotonous (they just stab everyone in a row with nails) - even here you can see the shoddy work, even with the naked eye.
It was filmed, understandably, with the attitude: “Come on, guys, let's make a movie.” Of course, sometimes true masterpieces came out this way (Phantasm, Evil Dead, Bad Taste), but at least the creators TRIED to make them. Here, they worked, as they say, “half-heartedly.”
In short, everything that can be bad in a movie is even worse in this film!
And despite its awfulness (or perhaps because of it), the film has managed to gain fans. I warn you, if you decide to order it (thank God it's not available on our domestic media), based on reviews from some mega-horrible website (as I did), think carefully. But if you're a masochist or a fan of EXCEPTIONALLY bad movies, then by all means, order it.
