Just think, this film is celebrating its 80th (!) anniversary this year!!! And people still watch it, love it, and remember it. Isn't that fame? Almost 30 years after the death of the great maestro of comedy, we still watch his films, and, most importantly, we admire them! Actors around the world consider him their teacher, but none of them have achieved or will achieve even half of the fame that surrounds the name of Chaplin.
This film is a picture from my childhood. My parents introduced me to it, I laughed at the misadventures of the tramp Charlie, I admired Chaplin's characters and his acting skills. Then I had many more opportunities to see The Gold Rush on television, always trying not to miss it. And now I was lucky enough to buy the video. Words cannot describe all the feelings that overwhelmed me when I held in my hands one of the most brilliant masterpieces of cinema of all time.
For me, Chaplin began with this film. For me, it is the best film by the great silent comedian.
I will never stop watching his great creations, because it is impossible to give up art!
