The United States, 1978 – the most dynamic era in the social and cultural context of this country's development. A large number of young people are trying to realize the concept of the “American dream” that has been skillfully sold to them. As a result of the unattainability of this goal, enormous temptations arise, such as drugs, crime, and so on.
Two brothers, Brad and Tommy, played by real-life brothers Sean and Christopher Penn, grew up without a father, their stepfather did not bring money into the family, and life demanded great effort.
And then one fine day, their biological father, played by the wonderful Christopher Walken, arrives in a sports car. He is well known among the townspeople as the strongest thief and gang leader. And such a meeting between father and sons cannot go unnoticed...
The ending of this film was shocking, of course, but considering that the film is based on real events, I calmed my shock a little. A powerful film, with good direction and acting by a number of actors who are well-known today, and even taking into account the release date of the film At Close Range.
