It's an interesting film that I didn't want to turn off without watching until the end. This despite the fact that he goes longer than three hours.
The film itself about how the charismatic Englishman organized the Arabs' uprising (which by and large didn't care) I rather liked - even though all this military romance was not for me, and the problems of the disunity of the Arab tribes had never bothered me in my life before . And Peter O`Toole has never been an idol for me. But it's spectacular: battle scenes, desert landscapes and so on. Plus, any unnecessary pathos chatter is also minimized. But at the same time, quite epic quotes come across in places, for example: "We can`t just sit here and do nothing!" "Why not? It`s usually the best. " ("- We cannot sit and do nothing! - Why, then? Usually this is the best way out.")
The hero himself, frankly, is not an example of all the beautiful that can be in a person (and sometimes simply terrifies him with his actions), but the instance is interesting in all respects. I expected that he would be all of himself such a holy liberator of the oppressed - in the best traditions of Hollywood - but I was pleasantly surprised.
In addition, there are not only bed scenes, but also a love line in general! At the same time, the film remains quite entertaining. In short, maybe not for nothing that seven Oscars were given at the time.
In general, an entertaining movie. But I don't think everyone will like it or everyone will be interested, nevertheless the topic is quite specific and requires at least minimal knowledge of the history of the events described. But if someone has recently become acutely aware of the lack of horses, desert landscapes and galloping camels in his life, this film is just what you need.
