Legendary action movie of the legendary Guy Ritchie. The second film (after Lock, Stock, Two Barrels), which symbolizes the same style of Richie. This recognizable style includes a lot of characters with funny nicknames (Turk, Bullet-Eye, Boris Blade, Red), a chic gangster soundtrack, the presence of different peoples (African American, Gypsies, Jews, Russians), ridiculous actions of characters that cause waves laughter, and a very twisted plot.
Moreover, what is very important, the whole film is tied to different plot lines, which are then woven into one. Moreover, Guy Ritchie does not allow any of them to slip away: he constantly keeps us informed of each, deftly maneuvering between them.
After robbing a jeweler and stealing a large gem, a real chase begins for the latter. Everyone wants to get it for themselves. Even those who are not chasing a stone at all, but simply connected by their alterations with mafiosi or bribery bookmakers, get into this broth. The stone passes from hand to hand, eventually ending up with ... you yourself will find out who - the plot is worth it.
The cast - well, there is nothing to say - all the future stars of Hollywood. Guy Ritchie hit the mark - and Brad Pitt, and Jason Statham, and Vinnie Jones, and Binicio Del Toro. What's interesting is the fact that Statham isn't playing his usual role - he's not a stone-faced, bulletproof superman (simply put, he's not Boris Blade). Moreover, he is a bait in this film, a weak character from a plot point of view, but the acting in his second film is truly masterful. The most powerful character, in my opinion, is Brad Pitt, who plays, attention !, a gypsy. Moreover, the gypsy is very impudent, cunning and rather dexterous with his gang of friends.
As a result, we have 100 minutes of not boring, not drawn-out film at all, which will not make you fall asleep or look at the clock while waiting for the end. The dialogues are short, crisp, essentially with amazing stuff from Richie (he, as you know, writes the dialogues himself). You will only follow a rather complex plot in fear of missing a single word. Unwinding backwards for a cut is guaranteed.
