Kung Fu Panda 2 4K 2011

Before the release of the animated film Kung Fu Panda, Hollywood animators had practically never paid attention to the style of Chinese martial arts films. However, the story of a panda named Po showed that this is an exciting and quite promising genre that can gross hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office. A couple of years after the first part, a sequel was released, which was slightly less intriguing but still interesting.

In the prologue to the cartoon, we travel back in time a couple of decades and meet Lord Peacock Shen, who, together with his noble clan, rules one of the Chinese cities. Shen loves power and revels in it, but when he learns from a fortune teller that he will be defeated by a warrior in black and white, he decides to take action and practically wipes out all the pandas he can get his hands on. Shen's parents could not accept such arbitrariness and sent him into exile. But Shen promised to return no matter what.

The main events of this cartoon take place in our time, when Po the panda became the Dragon Warrior and defeated the most dangerous enemy that threatened his native valley. But then rumors began to reach Po and the Furious Five that someone was threatening neighboring villages, collecting iron and gunpowder in order to wage war against all regions of China. As it turned out, it was Lord Shen himself, who had grown stronger during his exile and now intended to take back what he considered rightfully his. And only Po can stop him.

I want to say right away that this cartoon is not as funny and entertaining as the original, which is a bit disappointing because the first part was a very fun and entertaining adventure for viewers of all ages. Here, the authors decided to play out drama and palace intrigues around peacocks. This is a little tiring for adult viewers, not to mention children who just wanted to see great entertainment on the screen. So the authors got a little carried away and gave us a more serious film, which could have been a cool adventure with great humor, but it turned out to be not so simple.

Nevertheless, despite the complex motives and drama, Kung Fu Panda 2 is the cartoon that brought our favorite characters back into action. They are as energetic and comical as ever. The frenzied five are back in action and continue to help Po in every way possible, which in turn means that there will definitely be enough adventures for everyone.

Kung Fu Panda 2 may not be as cool a cartoon as the original, but it is still the kind of cartoon that can bring a smile to your face. So I recommend watching it and really enjoying this truly positive story.
