Back to the roots, dear Disney? Ron Clements and John Musker delivered a clear 'yes' in 2009 with their The Princess and the Frog. And to cut it short it is worth the money spend. Finally, a Disney cartoon that is almost the same as the old ones, but sometimes a little too much on the greed for effects and the anticipated overstimulation of today's children's audience. We have no way of knowing for sure, but on the other hand, we also don't care. Disney sometimes toots the PR horn when there is Christmas in the air. Still, a tame Christmas fairy tale with a logical course and happy ending and the universally feared vocal interludes and the usual funny companion. A children's film, but more of a nostalgia trip for the older semesters. Otherwise, the usual problem is that one would like to fast forward the singing, otherwise the fantasy market has heart and wit and the old-fashioned Disney charm. Still, it looks a bit dusty. Conclusion: Nice to watch an old-fashioned film again – but it wouldn't have been her best even in Disney's heyday! The music is cheerful and especially beautiful on Dolby Atmos – it's true with 4K Blue-ray either. Trudat.. Good point!
