Quite an entertaining film from 1980, which I discovered quite recently. Surprisingly, this film is the progenitor of famous Japanese horror films. Such as "The Call" and the acclaimed "Curse". From the very mythology of the film, to its atmosphere and plot twists.
The boy, his dark past that keeps him from going to the world of the dead. Very interesting stuff. I've always been fascinated by stories like this. It's just a shame that these are the kinds of pictures that most viewers have never heard of, and yet they deserve high praise like no other. A knowledgeable viewer will know what I'm talking about. And the point here is not only that the plot of this film is very similar to the Japanese "The Ring", but that this very "The Ring" has taken the main idea, the trick, which will be presented in its interpretation. The spirit of a dead child will not leave alone whoever is able to help him out of this reality. Until then, he will put all his strength into vengeance and murder. And trouble for those individuals who dare to get in his way. They won't get out alive, that's for sure.
I respect this movie. A movie that is not deservedly forgotten. Way back in 1980. How much happened in that period. The 1980s opened up a whole genre in the direction of cinema. Or one might even say a sub-genre, the so-called "ghost movies". In those days was released a lot of quality movies in a similar theme. Exactly as well as those products that were not worthy of attention. But one thing is certain. It is in the film products of the time, there is a special charm, attraction, from which it is almost impossible to come off. They encompass the viewer from head to toe and take them into their world of nightmares and mysteries.
