Tarantino has given us a masterpiece that manages to last 2.5 hours and fly by in five minutes at the same time. Maybe this is due to the fact that Pulp Fiction constantly keeps the viewer in suspense. The dialogues alone can be listened to at a replay. Also, after more than 10 years, the movie still hasn't answered the question of what was in the suitcase.
In my opinion, it was the very strong cast of the film that determined its success. Samuel L. Jackson, Travolta, Thurman, Willis. At one time each of these actors will be a headliner in world cinema. And here they are all playing in the same movie.
The film has no specific plot, rather it tells several short stories. About a boxer named Butch and bandits named Jules and Vincent Vega. The latter is one of the funniest characters in all of cinema. Vega has no jokes, but Tarantino was able to make him funny. The scenes of Vega and the boss's wife interaction are worth a lot. An awkward moment on an awkward moment.
The camerawork and scenery in the film are also on point. We see '90s Los Angeles in all its glory. However, Tarantino pays a huge tribute to the '60s. You can see it in the places where the characters end up. It's not very clear what this has to do with, but it's there. The apogee of the tribute to the retro style is the song 'Never Can Tell', which plays in the most famous scene of Pulp Fiction.
The dialogue in Pulp Fiction is the ultimate in humor. Characters can talk about awkward silences, hamburgers, God, etc. And each dialogue turns out to be as funny as possible. After all, Tarantino has a uniquely genius sense of humor. In the end, I would say that this movie is worth seeing if only for the scene with Travolta and Uma Thurman dancing.
